| The SSF is an objective measure of that, and it says that the CG height divided by the track width of a stock Yaris is higher than for a stock Fit or MINI. That means to get the same CG height with a modded suspension, you would have to lower the Yaris more than the Fit, and a lot more than the Cooper. Does the Yaris sit a lot higher off the ground on stock springs than the Cooper or the Fit? Toyota's published ground clearance on the Yaris is 5.5 inches. I'd be surprised if the Fit or Cooper sat much closer to the ground than that, although I did not find pusblished ground clearance on the Honda or MINI web sites.
Ford is touring their Fiesta ride & drive event around the country. There was one in Mountain View about 2 weeks ago. I would expect them to release the car pretty soon if they're doing that.

Terrible daily driver though. Burns oil like the madness and fuel economy that's not too far off that of a Suburban.

How about a Cobalt SS. Good handling, tons of power and good fuel economy if you keep your foot out of it. With the right tune 300 hp is do able.

That's not quite accurate. One quart of oil every 1500-2000 miles and about 16mpg in mixed highway/around town use. Not great, but not a total horror show, particularly when you look at buy in cost (perfect RX8's can be had used for under $14,000), maintenence (pretty bulletproof, outside of the transmissions), and overall practicality to round out the picture. It also would be VERY interesting to do a full on STX build with an '8...
For many, though, the deal breaker with the RX8 is the low roof line. If you are tall of torso or over 6', you may not fit with a helmet on...particularly in sun roof cars.
The Slobalt SS is quite a ride...great bang for the buck and the build quality isn't as bad as you might imagine. And, yep, they do get 'er done in DS.
In slow, out fast.
In fast, out backwards.

When I was commuting in an Avalanche (5.3L, 4.10 gearing) to/from Palo Alto, I usually got about 15.5 on a 50/50 split.
And a quart of oil every 2000 miles is quite a lot.
Not to mention, very little power for what you get.
I've tried really hard to like the RX8, they're a BLAST to drive (I've autocrossed a few), but I just can't get myself past their faults. You'd be better off (by a longshot) driving a 'vette, although the LS1s can burn oil pretty bad too. (at least you can easily clip 30mpg on the freeway!)

Yeah but I would have to spend a fortune on gold chains and v neck polyester shirts.

You should have plenty of gold chains and "Members Only" jackets from your Porsche days...oh, and those nifty Corinthian leather driving gloves...that just leaves v neck poly shirts and, I hear, Target has those pretty cheap...

| As a former owner of a Z06, a black '03 model, I find this comment entirely hilarious!
PS I had several v-neck long sleeve, ribbed shirts, but I got too many looks from cute guys, so I gave them to Goodwill
PPS I still have my Member's Only jacket. Keeps me warm while I change oil in wintertime.
