Hugo, sorry I forgot to reply about the gravelly part. Since we're on an off road racetrack it is mostly good dirt. Yet there are rocks in some areas. Which is why it's good to move them off course during course walks, if I haven't been able to clean up with the tractor.

oh man, that looks awesome. After thinking about how the rocks will wreck my paint ( I assume it's very gravelly) I'm seeing about going 4 ways with some friends and making a rally x car for next year. Any insight besides just getting a dinky car, roll cage and big side wall rubber?

For rallyX, a cage isn't req. For the trails it is.

When I was there, ~30-40 cars. 80% subaru, 5% other awd, 5% fwd, 5% rwd, 5%WTF is that : ) There was a BRAND NEW legacy out there, I was blown away! I would be scared of the paint, but I'm kind of a clean/pristine car freak.

We were in a bone stock FWD VW. And it did just fine.

^ I like to have a clean car myself, although I got plenty of black smudges on my front bumper from cones already lol. I know I can usually buff those out. Without mudflaps I think it's questionable to go this weekend. Otherwise I think I would be down to risk it. Thanks for the insight guys.

Another paint protector method is to paint the areas around fenders and quarter panels and some people also do the tape over license plate ins thing.

Hugo, a light coating of Pam-type cooking spray makes cone marks really easy to clean off. Any cheapo brand will do the job.

Benny said, "but I'm kind of a clean/pristine car freak." Personally, I don't consider you a freak, at all, but well groomed. Very Happy

Heck, any of you guys ever hear of someone named George Doganis, he's coming up from Socal to do the RallyTrials.

He's in the back of the rulebook. Several times.

Saw really new STIs, WRXs, crosstreks (sp?) and even a stock (on snows) BRZ. WHOA! With that said, me personally, I still wouldn't bring anything out there that was either a dedicated rallyx car or a beater.

Had a blast. The course was fun. ~90 secs. 5 Runs.

Glad you guys had fun Benny. Now just get your Lemons car ready for rallytrials. Basically stockish type of struts and springs, maybe a little stiffer, but not much. We were doing almost 4 minutes per run x 6.
