Oh man I wish! It sounds like so much fun. I am tempted to take our lemons car and raise the coils up on that car. If we had remotely decent tires for "off-road" I would try it.

Benny, we did gear the concept of RallyTrials towards Lemons cars as well. If you put stockish type suspension back on it and decent tires, off road not necessary, you'll have a blast. Why car do you have for Lemons? I might have some tires and wheels laying around.

I should put the picture here as a little aide in what to expect for the RallyTrials course. Trust me it would take too long to walk.

OMG YOU"RE KILLING ME!!!!

We run a 89 crx for lemons. As we prepped the GTi today, we looked at the CRX and starting thinking up ways to make that more rallyX ready.

oh man, that looks awesome. After thinking about how the rocks will wreck my paint ( I assume it's very gravelly) I'm seeing about going 4 ways with some friends and making a rally x car for next year. Any insight besides just getting a dinky car, roll cage and big side wall rubber?

Benny, I love your response. It's why I worked with Stephen Hyatt, while I was on the RXB, to bring back this aspect of SCCA rally program to give competitors somewhere else to go above RallyCross, kinda like a ladder system for the dirt. Mostly you just need stock suspension, a little stiffer will be better for the RallyTrials program.

If you like autocross in the rain than you will love why RallyCross is so much fun. This course for the RallyTrials exemplifies what it is once people meet the requirements to compete. You should come out with Benny and the group and check it out. Benny said some very nice things about the last event and the group who put them on, that means a lot since I know what level of autocross there is in the bay area.

The other mod that is wise for RallyCross is to put mud flaps of the cars. Subaru's have subpar paint jobs and putting mud flaps keeps the paint safe"ish". Getting cars too sideways can still defeat mud flaps, but typically, good driving is key.

Insight, small is good, 4 wheel independent suspension is very wise. No front sway bar and a car with some form of limited slip diff is huge also. Tires, best option Winterforce snow tires, Bridgestone Blizzaks or any aggressive all season tires.

Heck, any of you guys ever hear of someone named George Doganis, he's coming up from Socal to do the RallyTrials.

I've done my share of autocrossing in the rain, mostly in topless cars. It's fun if you have the right tires. I like racing in the dirt and mud a lot.

I will make it out to see an event soon. I can't make it this weekend however.
