So I'm looking at Toyota Yaris as a throw away car for high mileage commuting. Gets good gas mileage, fun to drive, cheap and easy to maintain, etc.

When I went on to the Totyota USA website to build this car they offer rear TRD swaybar option, TRD sport springs, TRD intake, sport clutch and few other goodies as options for delivered car. Would those options allow the car to be stock in SCCA class if you ordered from factory this way?

Are those dealer-installed options? It's only legal if it comes off the factory assembly line like that.

I doubt the intake and clutch can come from the factory like that.

It is a little hard to find, but all the "Accessories" including all the TRD parts do not include installation.

They are dealer installed parts and are, therefore, not legal for Stock class.

Dang! Just found the buried disclaimer on those parts.

Not only that, I think the TRD options vary depending on which state you are in!

I'll just have to build a sleeper Yaris like my Toyota Echo and run appropriate class. I'll skip the lousy TRD parts and get the good stuff.

Porsche is eventually going to be more of a track car. Yaris would be more appropriate AX car.

Grant-

"Yaris more of an autocross car" just doesn't compute with me. Too tall, narrow and soft, no matter what. I just don't see it. There hast o be another good commuter car tha is a much better autocross car. Keep shopping!
