My car is in DSP. For ST, my car would probably fall under STC since the 98-01 2.5rs is in STC.

Why's it in DSP?

The Civics are too fast. That's why I'd do it.

Nothing wrong with classifying your car higher than it is. Right?

Looks like running from competition to me.

Besides the rules putting my car in DSP (all Imprezas with 2.5 engines), I will be destroyed by the civics. Period. I also have zero intention to put more money into the car to make it more competitive in any class right now; it's time to save up some money for another car.

Only the Civaks. I doubt the current Civics can destroy as much as the 1st gen Si's.

So what if some real DSP cars run DSP. Run EM?

This coming from people who switch cars/classes when they don't have THE car for a given class.

Different mind sets.

While Mack/Justin do want to have THE car, they also run THE car against the very best in Solo, including Nationals...heads up. Given the cost and committment required, it makes sense to try and show up with the best tool for the job.

Nothing wrong with going about it either way, competition is relative. Ultimately, it is about what you want to get out of autocrossing and the degree of competition desired can usually be accomodated, whether National SCCA, regional/SFR, or other (PCA, BMWCCA etc). Smile

We didn't run THE car in FSP for 3 years, including Nationals with relative success. We got 10 free A6s and 4 free v710s with it.

We did switch to STX in the MS3 because we weren't getting any faster in FSP. It was time to move on.

Switch to E36 in STX because it is more fun and time to switch to a different platform. The MS3 is faster than the E36 on some course and is easier to drive... I guess I can run the MS3 in DSP locally Wink

This coming from a guy that never won a single tire. Laughing

At least I don't run in a class where nobody runs in it so they can win trophies and jackets.
