We will be switching to a 3-group morning, 2-group afternoon format. How does this work in the morning?

Pre-9am
======
Registration for GROUP 1 only!
Groups 1 and 2 grid and get tech'd.

Morning Session 1
=======
Group 1 Runs
Group 3 works
Group 2 Regs

Morning Session 2
=======
Group 2 Runs
Group 1 works
Group 3 Regs and moves onto grid to get tech'd

Morning Session 3
========
Group 3 Runs
Group 2 works
Afternoon reg open

The overall result? Smaller run groups, less work time, and hopefully a super short reg line!

good for am and worth trying, but i hope there'll be enough stewards and workers for pm groups; that was a prob for the 3/3 rg format on low turnout days so sfr chairs should be wary on wet days or at venues like ggf/marina.

I'm sure many others have the same question:
What groups (heats) do the car classes run?
Just asking.

Since the morning registration is for Group 1 only, when will group 3 sign up for work, since they will have to work before they register?

Worker sheets are still open for signing up in the morning. That won't be an issue or factor in time consumption.

The groups will be decided when Jerry gets done with his data analysis.

So when does Group 3 register. And what classes are in Group 3, this week.
And all of that does change for every every event?

Previously we added more groups when more people started to attend events. And we always had space in between groups to allow people to powder their nose or grab a burger from the Food truck that we made a point of inviting.

My favorite words: "Back in the day," we used to base when classes ran on what happened at the previous event, regrouping. Obviously that process didn't work, because someone always was screwed. Finally we listed the classes one way and kept them that way until the next series of events, or if the groupings really got out of whack, which they will do, for sure.
I like the suggestion someone made about cutting back on fun runs. Those really threw our last event, esp the 2nd heat, for a loop. Fun runs can run whenever they want, whenever is convenient, not really a good thing for the rest of us.

Registration for GROUP 1 only!
Groups 1 and 2 grid and get tech'd.
According to this plan, Group 3 doesn't register until after they've worked.

Group 3 works
Group 2 Regs
How do you know who's in Group 3 if they haven't registered or signed up for work?

Morning Session 2
=======
Group 2 Runs
Group 1 works
Group 3 Regs and moves onto grid to get tech'd

Morning Session 3
