2012 VW GTI R might be a nice alternative to typical EVO and Subi turbo econo rally crap boxes.

yeah, last thing you want to do is get a competitive car. Listen to Grant, he knows what to get to stay non-competitive.

I say pick whatever car is more fun for you. Obviously I vote Evo. Fast, fun, and maintenance/installs aren't bad.

another Audi to consider then is the 2010+ S4 with it's supercharged 3.0 instead of the older V8. Porky and a bit fat, but seems to have good performance numbers and better than other european AWD alternatives for the same price point. I don't know what class it is stock though, but I imagine still BS. Wheel wells are wider than an RS4.

Yeah -- I just like the noise of the 4.2 on the RS4 Smile

Anyone had much experience of the Evo IX vs the X? I'm tempted to go for the X so long as I'm not sacrificing too much on the AX performance front!

Someone remind me of someone I know... just because they own it, it is the best.

Issac owned both, most of the EVO IX guys here driven his. The EVO IX is definitely the way to go if you want to be competitive in auto-x, the EVO X is just too big and heavy.

So far I do agree the IX is more competitive than the X. I need to spend more time developing the X though.

Fast and furious turbo econo boxes just arent how I roll for my primary sports car ride. I can deal with being slow in my class to look good on the road. LOL!

Like I have said Mitsubishi makes great TV's. I also found that they make a real nice toaster oven that they styled EVO after! But cars not so much unless your goal is to be fastest BSP car in SCCA. I dont have much use for a turbo econobox rally car thingy. I just cant pull off the Vin Diesel look well enough to be cool in an EVO.

hate to tell you this, but you don't look good anywhere. And you proved my point, you don't know competitive.
