thanks to chairs steve h and seth [better late than never!], volunteers who worked extra, safety stewards, rv drivers, et al!

fast fun course but it seemed like more gravel in the 1st half than i recall last time; or maybe i punished myself trying certain lines not so tight, since later when i ran tighter, grip seemed better =)

rv port for finish light: will we be fixing it soon? it caused delay in rg2 and seems risky to keep light directly jacked to time counter [2nd event we've done it i think]

Great course, the bumps ruined it but the course was great. I wish we have other venues as big as Candlestick.

I agree, the course layout was cool. A few places felt too wide open, but that might have been because I was driving Mr.two today and it takes awhile to get that car moving...and requires 3rd gear a lot. Still, the flow of the course was really good, I think...although, I'm still trying to figure out why the slalom was "wrong side" entry, as that also pinched the exit. The finishing section was very, very fun. That part of the lot has the best asphalt, the bumps aren't bad and Steve's wiggle/waggle of short sweepers were like a roller coaster ride. Smile

The bumps are crazy. I was feeling sorry for my car...

Thanks to the tireless volunteers that make it all happen and Steve and Seth for stepping up to chair. Speaking of volunteers, I wouldn't want to be in Pat or Jerry's shoes, compiling results...this one is all fubar'ed, based on the printouts from RG2. Anyone know what happened? It appears the computer got out of sequence or something.

Props to Seth and Steve for getting it done despite having to break into the parking lot this morning when the person who was supposed to unlock the gate no-showed and despite having to rework the course design on the fly.

Candlestick's large size makes it possible to lay out really fast/long courses as Steve proved today. It was a blast!

I second the comment above about trying to re-wire the finsih input into the timing box (or we should buy a bunch of fuses for the timer to replace the ones we keep blowing).

Unfortunately, SFR can't really afford to run at Candlestick. 120 turnout vs. cost will probably show a $5-600 loss...

The times that came up on the timer box got into the computor correctly in RG2 at the time it was happening. I announced times off the JAC timer, checked the times against the announcer's computer screen and they were correct at that time. Not sure where the jumbled times came in...

Had a fun time at Candlestick driving my new Mini today! It felt great to be autocrossing again after a four month break. Thanks to everyone who made this event happen.

All I can say is: 3rd gear! Ripping off downshifts is fun...

Being on stock suspension, I didn't mind the bumps and by RG4 most of the gravel was cleared off of the racing line. Thumb Up Thumb Up Thumb Up for the course!
