2 Seconds Good day all, so yesterday morning, after looking thru Craigslist for awhile on great deals, found some PacerSport Schuster Forged wheels, 15 lbs each in a 17x7 so I can get back into the ST class not the STX since I had my all season BFG's on my OZ 18x8's. Now with this setup I can go back into the ST class, woo hoo!!!!

Heres my question, as far as tires go, the below are my options OTD with balancing and installation for each tire plus tax of course, all in the 225/45/17 size:

Just came across this lil table:
http://img718.imageshack.us/img718/571/35589306.jpg

Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec $130
200 Treadwear 26 lbs

Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 $175

Bridgestone Potenza RE070 $190

Bridgestone Potenza RE050 $175

Hankook Ventus R-S3 $120
140 Treadwear 25 lbs

Kumho Ecsta XS $135
180 Treadwear 23lbs

Oooops, forgot to add this one too: Falken Azeni's RT-615 $115
200 Treadwear 25.3 lbs

http://www.falkentire.com/media/tires/14/tire.jpg

Not sure when the new replacement will come out for it, but it is an older tire, supposed new tire from them will be the RT-615K, who knows.

So from the list above which would you folks recommend? Please let me know, since I'd like to order these today, and arrive by this weekend so to have them installed this weekend.

Thanks all for your help in advance!!!!!!! Poll created, please vote Thumb Up

Wheels that I just picked up:

Picked up the wheels and the Muteki Lugs for a very good deal, especially on lightweight forged wheels, $430.

2nd on the Dunlops. RE11's are nice, but for everyday wear, seems like the Dunlops will fair better. I have them on another car. Nice grip

By no means am I the expert, but from what I gather the list would go something like this (best to worst).

Hankook
Bridgestone RE-11 (no RE050 or RE070)
Dunlop
Kumho
Falken

If it rains, then the Hankook drops down a bit, I have heard they are not so good in the wet, but in the dry the consensus I get is that they are superior at this time. Another tire to consider is the Toyo R1R, great in the wet & near the top of that list in the dry. From what I hear, between the Hankook, Dunlop, RE-11 & Toyos you pretty much can't go wrong with any of them. Good luck!

I think for me it'll be more between the Hankook, Dunlop, Kumho or the Falken, since I'm trying to economize and still try to get the biggest bang for my buck.

I wouldn't take that test you posted above very seriously. Most of the tires on that list are NOT competitive in autocrossing whatsoever. Also, it ranked the Kumho higher than the Dunlop in the autocross, which is the exact opposite from every tire test I have seen. I'm not sure what issues they are, but Grassroots Motorsports has done a couple of tire tests in recent months, that would be some good info for you to look up. Also I think the current Euro Tuner magazine has a big tire test in it, conducted with the help of Tire Rack I believe. But, I think between the Dunlops & Hankooks you cannot go wrong...2 of the best for sure Nod
