Why won't it pass visual?

Dear sir, if it's supposed to have precats and they're removed, doesn't that make it fail visual?

The NV car does not have precat removed. There are no CA version of this car.

Someone mentioned pre-cat removal. All I'm saying is if that's so, it will fail visual.

Actually, if you read the post you'll see that cars have indeed passed visual with the precats gutted and/or removed. Gutting them is invisible and is actually better for the 00-02, since there is no risk of them deteriorating and getting sucked back into the engine.

It's not legal, for CARB and for Street class, but it can be done and it can and will pass visual.

Welcome.

For Toyota parts, I usually use Toyota Parts Deal. They'll have the crash bolts, washers and nuts.

Exhaust is entirely up to you. I bought a Manzo exhaust to try, it sounded okay but spewed cancer everywhere (fiberglass packing). It also didn't fit well. I ended up hacking it apart to create a straight pipe with Blox Mini Race can at the end. Most people take out the OE, cut the muffler out and replace it with the Magnaflow 14210 which makes it about 10lbs lighter.

On exhaust - the flex pipe after the pre-cats has a tendency to split apart if your hangers and motor mounts aren't in good shape. Happened to me after Packwood.

Everything else is pretty standard. When you get the crash bolts, let me know and you can borrow my tool for maximum camber Smile
