Thanks to Doug and team for another great Mather event.
This was my first year running Mather but second time running AutoX.

Ended up working the course twice, three times if you count being out with the camera and ended up calling cones/dnf more than my spotter.

The Fun Runs at the end really got me going and fell in love with my car all over again.

Looking forward to attending more events.

Welcome to the forums. Hope to see you out our direction some time. Crows Landing is a fabulous site that attracts crowds from all chapters of SFR SCCA and even some people from southern California.

One of these days I'd like to see what all the fuss is about at Crows Landing. I definitely would need to bring my wife and kid as support crew in the Crosstrek.

Crows Landing has awesome grip and a lot of space. You can have big and fast courses.

This. SF Region's premier's site. It's a bit of a drive from Sacramento, but it's worth it. The site really gives cars a chance to stretch its legs.

Thanks Kevin. I think I'm going to work on getting through my first season in Sacramento/Stockton and then look at my options and potentially moving up my class from DS to ASP.

I am sure many could argue one way or another but jumping straight into a street prepared class will probably limit how quickly you can learn on how to drive a vehicle to its upper limits. I know it helped me a lot actually going into a slower car.

I agree with you. I started out in STX when it was a provisional class, then took a break from autocross. After getting the BRZ and got back into autocross, hopped into CS in mine and/or Dennis Q's car.

Nothing wrong with Street(formerly Stock) classes. DS seems to be a pretty decent sized group with all the reclassed cars from CS. Lots of fierce competition to be had.

The BRZ being my second car, took me about 3 years before I did my first upgrade/modification (front sway bar), and An seemed to drive it a lot better than I did. Put a respectable 53 flat down on Sunday slightly behind the Stroud/Blando-mobile.

Stay street. No point going to ASP it's a dead class up here.
