Just to get this back out there! Remember the price change:

$40 - prereg (MSR link: http://msreg.com/SFRRound09)
$50 - onsite

Spread the word!

Run groups have changed. Check the Latest Event Info at sfrautox.com .

Junior Karts now exclusively run after run group 2 but before afternoon course walk. Parents and their little karters will exclusively be using/on the course during this time. That also means NO GRIDDING during this time. No cars will be allowed near the grid or course during this time.

You mentioned somewhere that the parents would be using bicycles to chase cones. Who's bringing the bicycles?

Don't we have one in the trailer?

I do have questions about how this is going to be run.

Who is going to manage the red flags required at every worker station? One parent riding a bicycle can't do it.

Who is going to manage the timing and scoring?

Have you talked to the Chief Safety Steward to find out which two safety stewards are going to volunteer to manage the grid control during this time? I can't do it because apparently I will be working course.

And lastly, since the kid are not receiving all of the benefits that the other auto crossers are getting, ie fully managed course, and the parents are having to do it all, shouldn't it be safe to presume that the kids won't be charged as much for the autocross? say half price?

We can send one kid at a time like was done at the last Marina event so red flags shouldn't be an issue.

We can find someone for timing and scoring, that's not a prob.

I can manage the kids in the grid.

No, they still have to pay full price. They in fact are doing 1/2 of what they're supposed to be doing anyways. All participants, including children, are technically supposed to work. I'm not fully opposed to moving the kids back into a normal run group as long as they and the parents understand the kids will have to work a full group as well as is the norm. They can't just show up and leave like they've been doing.

If it doesn't work, we can go back to the normal method.

So, where are you going to have kids under the age of 16 work if they go back to a normal run group???? It's a lot easier to have them mark cones at the beginning and pick cones up at the end. JMHO

Is this one kid running, one parent courseworking? Surely, the region can come up with some workers, as one each station should be more than enough coverage. I like having red flags at the ready, just in case a kid gets lost and is heading for trouble.

I was told in the past they were on trash duty. Cone chalking would definitely be ideal though.
