I'm 75 years old and wanted to build something fast enough to make me competitive with the younger drivers. I started with a 97 2 liter STI drive train from Japan, built a tube frame, plopped a 1927 Ford Track T body on it and ended up with a pretty quick little all wheel drive car. It weighs 1800 lbs and puts out somewhere around 350 HP with the mods I've made.
I run skinny street tires so it runs in the OSP class presently. With wider racing tires it could be very competitive in the DM class. I built it to run the Goodguy's autocross events and it did so well last year that they rewrote the rules for 2014 outlawing all wheel drive cars.
I'm selling it complete with an extra set of wheels and tires and a custom built trailer. It's ready to hit the track.

I know i can't afford it, but just wondering about how much are you asking, that sounds like an amazing ride... Good luck with the sale....

Instead of banning the car, they could make him stuff 300 lbs into it without fellow competitor's input Smile

Isn't this engine turbo'd??? If so, this car is not legal for DM. There is a limit of 1.4L for FI (Forced Induction) in DM... It would go to EM and I'd also research the weight limit due to the AWD.

Sorry I forgot to post a price. I'm thinking $20K which would pay for most of my materials - labor of love and all that.

Probably won't find room for it in the garage, but any chance it has CA plates? Street legal?

Yes it is street legal. It has lights, horn, all the necesities. It is registered as a 1923 Ford Model T so no smog to worry about. I am currently running on a racing fuel ECU program so it's a little expensive to just drive around but the Holley ECU can be easily reprogrammed for pump gas if you want to drive it more than on the track. All you need is a lap top. The programming is very simple.
Sorry for the delay in responding. I'll try to check in more often.
