Hey everybody! Glad to find a local club of enthusiasts.

I moved out to SF from Chicago last year and I'm looking to get back into the motorsports scene. My car has seen a decent share of autocrosses and track days, but I'd still consider myself a beginner/hobbyist--especially since the car is also my daily and I don't own my own garage...In any case, I'd love to swing by the next event, or just meet up with some of you guys for food or a cruise!

But enough typing, here's the car and a video of my most recent track excursion for your entertainment:

Welcome to the forum and bay area! There's a lot of autox groups on the bay area, so there's usually something going on. Check out the Northern California Events section to see the schedules.

welcome, thanks for the track vid; do you know when autobahn cc was paved? i began autox in joliet at route 66 the last yr i lived in chicago but only heard of gingerman raceway and road america which i luckily tracked when lexus had its 1st performance driving school.

here, my fave raceway is thunderhill [but very hot in summer] and that's before the new course extension opening this yr. Laguna seca [brake taxing] and sears point [car/crash collecting] are fun too

Thanks guys!

Everbruin, I'm not sure when it was paved. The first time I was ever there was 2011 and it was all done by then. Grattan is another fun track out that way, way more interesting than Gingerman (although I love Gingerman)--Looks like 2004 according to this asphalt company's website: http://www.gallagherasphalt.com/proj/04_auto/autobahn.html

Zyrano, I'll check them out, I wonder how welcoming they are to the late models...

Seeing as how I don't own ANY ford products what so ever and go to most of the activities and don't really have a problem (short of being able to pass a well driven v8 car on the straight away on the track Laughing )... I think you'll be fine with a later model ford... in particular, the mininats banquet sounds like it will be quite a treat, guests include peter brock, john morton, bob bondurant, and allen grant...
