Any body wanting to get about 10 of us (or more) to go to Lemans karting, Gokart racer in- Burlingame, or K1 speed, for some BS talking about the upcoming season on what you've done to your cars. This could be a great way of getting ready for the season opener in 3 weeks. Anyways lets have a small poll on where we would like to meet at and go from there.

Umigo is another option.

I'd be down to try out K1, have never been in an elec kart.

GKR is close to me. If you end up choosing GKR I should be able to head down.

Electric karts are pretty good when they give you full power. The workers can remotely control how much power you can use.

Just went to K1 for the first time with some people from work.

Pleasant staff and I like the absence of fumes, but I would recommend one of the other companies for a few reasons:

1) the current course really doesn't provide passing opportunities AT ALL; there's not much challenge (and not enough power in the karts) to induce mistakes; no real choice of lines; no room to pass. It got boring fast.

2) insufficient kart maintenance. We did 3 "races" (segments) in different karts each time. 1 of the 3 I drove was WAY down on power (at least 1/2 second slower than the 2 karts I drove before it). Other drivers got karts with accelerators that were stuck at full on; karts that shook or made various noises; and karts with serious handling issues.

3) man did that seat not agree with me. I'm not a small guy but it felt like the kart seats were built to accomodate football players. I'm deeply bruised on my back and my thighs.... ouch.

^^^ Spot on. If they maintained the karts and could design a good course, K1 would be so much better. I went to both locations when everything was new and I had a blast. After a couple months, everything went down the drain.

I dislike the diagonal seat layout on the Lemans karts and the course at GKR is too tight for me to be competitive.

I haven't tried Umigo, I'd be down for that.

Really I'd be down for anything... With a field of people who really know how to drive, I'll be getting lapped everywhere.

I've been to K1 a few times. I don't like how it is run at all. The track Marshals act like gods with the almighty power control. I've been to LeMans and Umigo a few times as well. I had a great time at both. I'd be down for either but wouldn't complain if it is Umigo. It is 5 minutes from me.
