Speaking in hushed, low tone... if we had our own site, this wouldn't happen.
Now, waiting in my corner with M. Wood shielding our heads from the barrage of shite falling Something hitting the fan Smile

"own site" will never, ever happen. I've resigned myself to where the majority interest lies.

Yep...and when we lose Oakland and Marina, I will go back to road racing and the cycle will be complete Laughing

My next, best hope for Solo is that National starts a real dialogue with the FAA and the military around airbases, in terms of creating a "template" for use. We aren't the only region who is having difficulty. Left to our own devices, notwithstanding the fact we have abandoned and underused fields up and down the valley, I don't think it will get done.

Can I be your crew-chief? Very Happy

I'm not sure I could swing even a entry-level road race program financially, & even if I could it wouldn't be at the level of success I've grown accustom to in autocross, so I'm seriously considering NASA Time Trials as an alternative.

Environmental Impact Study and lawsuits from tree-huggers will take all your money. If it wasn't for NHRA and NASCAR - Sears Point would be a dust bowl, Same with Laguna Seca (Cart)(they already have noise complaint lawsuits going on. Thunderhill would be the place, then take some of your money and build a High-Quality Motel w/ a good restraunt for Auto-X'rs and rent rooms at a good price and make some of your money back..

The cancellation needs to get onto the SCCA-SFR Solo Calendar (http://www.sfr-solo.org/solo2) as quickly as possible. Many will not read about it here on BAAutoX, and it has been 18 hours since the cancellation was announced here. People will need to be apprised so that they can change their plans.

I just checked at the SFR solo site and its not saying anything about being cancelled. If it really is cancelled that should be changed.

Bummed about the cancellation, was really looking forward to my first autox event.

Slightly off topic, looking at the SFR 2013 schedule the next event is on June 9, 2013. That same day, Oracle is having a hip-hop concert that starts at 19:00. Just a heads up for everyone. Hope that will not be canceled as well
